Foods That Tend to Help
- Bland, low-fat foods: crackers, toast, rice, plain chicken or fish.
- Cold or room-temperature foods, which can be easier to tolerate than hot, heavy meals.
- Ginger, in tea, candies, or added to food, is a well-known natural aid for nausea.
- Small sips of clear fluids (water, broth, electrolyte drinks) throughout the day.
Foods and Habits That Can Make It Worse
- Greasy, fried, or very rich foods.
- Eating large meals quickly.
- Lying down right after eating.
- Very sugary foods or drinks on an empty stomach.
Timing Tips
- Eat smaller meals more frequently instead of a few large ones.
- Go slowly and stop before you feel overly full.
- Try eating something small before taking your injection if nausea tends to hit around dosing day.
